After the victorious Serbian campaign, Sultan Murad II orders to call physician Akşemseddin to take care of Hüma Hatun's illness, meanwhile, Prince Mehmet flees from the Palace.

Akşemseddin gains the Sultan's respect when Hüma Hatun recovers, so he will be proposed to take over the education of Prince Mehmet.

While Hacı Pasha pays a heavy price for going behind the Sultan's back, Çandarlı Halil Pasha is appointed as the new Vezir-i Azam. Meanwhile, Akşemseddin agrees to become Mehmed's squire.
